Hi! My name is Lucas Pollet, and I’m a documentary and political photographer based in Poughkeepsie, New York, but I frequently find myself back home in North Carolina or the Cherokee Nation. I started photography as a kid with a Gameboy Camera and whatever disposables my mom would buy me. After years of shooting street photography, studying political science and sociology, and working in barbershops in a couple different states, I’ve found immense joy in capturing intersecting moments of private life, social expression, and political action. As a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation I’m also honored to be a part of the 400 Years Project and its the effort to expand the understanding of the world through a Native lens, as well as a new Up Next member of Diversify Photo.
